Understanding Non-Invasive Prenatal Paternity (NIPP) Testing

Finding out who the father of a child is doesn't have to wait until delivery day. Modern genetic technology has revolutionized family planning and legal processes through Non-Invasive Prenatal Paternity (NIPP) testing. At our highly rated testing centers in Miami Beach and Wynwood, we provide expectant mothers with the most advanced, 100% safe prenatal DNA testing available today. With a simple maternal blood draw, we can determine the biological father with 99.99% accuracy starting as early as 7 weeks into the pregnancy.

How Does a Prenatal Paternity Test Work?

During pregnancy, a small amount of the baby’s DNA naturally passes through the placenta and enters the mother's bloodstream. This is known as cell-free fetal DNA (cffDNA). Our partner AABB-accredited laboratories specialize in isolating this free-floating fetal DNA directly from a standard blood sample taken from the mother's arm. Once isolated, the laboratory maps the baby's genetic markers and compares them directly against the DNA collected from the alleged father via a simple, painless buccal (cheek) swab. Because this process only requires a standard blood draw from the mother, it is entirely non-invasive and carries zero risk of miscarriage, completely replacing the need for dangerous procedures like amniocentesis or CVS.

Prenatal Testing for USCIS and Immigration

One of the most critical uses for our NIPP testing is expediting the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) process. Often, establishing a legal biological relationship is the bottleneck in securing visas, passports, or citizenship for a child born abroad. Because our prenatal tests are strictly processed by an AABB-accredited facility following a rigid chain of custody, the results are legally binding. Expectant parents can present these prenatal DNA results to USCIS officials or U.S. Embassies globally to establish paternity before the child is even born, significantly speeding up the immigration timeline.

The Monday-Thursday Scheduling Rule

When booking your prenatal DNA test in Miami, strict scheduling rules apply to guarantee the accuracy and viability of your sample. All maternal blood draws must be performed on a business day between Monday and Thursday. Cell-free fetal DNA degrades very rapidly once it is drawn. If a blood draw occurs on a Friday or over the weekend, the sample will sit in a shipping facility transit hub and degrade, resulting in a rejected sample by the laboratory and forcing you to return for a mandatory redraw. We enforce this Monday-Thursday rule to ensure your sample goes straight into the centrifuge at the laboratory for flawless processing.

Mobile Phlebotomy & Home DNA Collection

We understand that traveling to a clinic while pregnant can be stressful or inconvenient. To maximize your comfort, we offer premium Mobile DNA Collection services. Our certified, professional phlebotomists will travel directly to your home, office, or hospital room anywhere within the greater Miami-Dade area. They will securely draw the mother's blood and collect the father's cheek swab in the privacy of your own environment. Please be aware that this VIP concierge service incurs an additional mobile travel fee, which is calculated based on your specific zip code.

Prenatal FAQ

Is prenatal paternity testing safe for the baby?
Yes, 100% safe. Unlike amniocentesis or CVS, which involve inserting needles into the womb and carry a risk of miscarriage, our NIPP test only requires a standard blood draw from the mother's arm. There is absolutely zero risk to the fetus.
How early in my pregnancy can I take the test?
You can take the test as early as 7 weeks into your pregnancy. We recommend consulting with your OBGYN to accurately date your pregnancy via ultrasound before booking.
Are prenatal test results court-admissible?
Yes. Because our prenatal tests are processed by an AABB-accredited laboratory using a strict chain of custody, the results are fully accepted by US courts for child support and custody, as well as by USCIS for immigration.
Why can't I get my blood drawn on a Friday?
Fetal DNA degrades extremely fast. If drawn on a Friday, your blood sample will sit in a shipping warehouse over the weekend and will be rejected by the lab. We require Monday-Thursday scheduling to ensure the sample is viable.
Can you come to my home to draw the blood?
Yes. We provide Mobile Phlebotomy services. A certified technician will come to your home or office. A mobile travel fee applies based on your Miami-Dade location.
What if the alleged father isn't in Miami?
If the alleged father lives in another state or country, we can arrange for his DNA to be collected at a separate authorized facility or coordinate with a US Embassy for international collections.
